Latin artist are invading the US market. First they conquer the billboard and now they are taking the "Top Searches of 2006" lists.

Yahoo release a few days ago the Yahoo! Top Searches of 2006 and the #3 spot for the "Top 10 Overall Searches" was occupied by the Colombian Latin pop singer-songwriter Shakira. She also was the #2 keyword under the "Celebrity Searches" category. Congratulations Shakira !!!

The keyword "Shakira" has more searches on Yahoo than "Paris Hilton" (#5), Pamela Anderson (#9) and Lindsay Lohan (#10) and was only surpassed by "Britney Spears".

Of course Shakira deserve this place, right now she's the most important latin american singer, she sold over 3.5 million copies in the USA and 15 million copies worldwide of her first english album : Laundry Service.

Shakira is famous for her very-super-sexy belly dance and booty shaking. She told that this moves are based on the art of belly dancing, a part of her Lebanese heritage. She can take my breath away when she moves hery hips !!

One of her most important success was on April 2006, when she received 6 Latin Billboard Awards. Among this awards were: Female Latin Pop Album of the Year for her first album Fijacion Oral Vol. 1 (spanish version) and Hot Latin Song of the Year for "La Tortura".
